Why this setup

You buy tumbled stones, clusters, towers and spheres by the kilo, sell them in Whatnot and TikTok Shop live shows four or five nights a week, and pack 40 to 150 orders a week from a garage.

Crystal shows run on volume: a pick-a-stone for a few pounds, then a heavier cluster or sphere to finish the night. The garage holds the bulk stock, the show table and a packing line that can clear a hundred small orders the next morning.

Stone is heavy for its size and scratches other stone. Two polished spheres that touch in the post will chip, so bag every piece before you do anything else with it.

How to lay it out

Where everything goes, so each order moves one way through the room.

  1. 1

    Bulk tubs on shelving

Tumbled stones sit in clear tubs by type on two shelving units, heavy tubs on the lowest shelf. Label each tub with the stone name and your buying cost per kilo.

  2. 2

    Show table facing the panels

The overhead arm points the phone down at a dark cloth on the show table. LED panels sit either side at 45 degrees to bring out colour and shine without hot spots on spheres.

  3. 3

    Sold tray beside the mic

Drop each sold stone into a bag, write the buyer’s username on it and put it in the tray. Carry the tray to the packing table when the show ends.

  4. 4

    Packing line by the door

The folding table holds the scale, padded envelopes and small boxes. Use envelopes for tumbles and boxes for spheres and clusters.

The guide

Each step in the order you'll need it.

01

Buying by the kilo

Buy tumbles in bulk from wholesalers and work out the cost per piece before the first show. A kilo of small tumbles can stock several pick-a-stone rounds.

Keep higher-value spheres and clusters separate and price them one by one.

02

Running a live crystal show

Open with a cheap pick-a-stone round to fill the room, then move to statement pieces once viewers stay. Hold each piece under the overhead phone and turn it slowly so the panels catch the polish.

Read the stone name, size and weight aloud. A buyer listening on headphones needs the facts without seeing the screen.

03

Staying within TikTok Shop and Whatnot rules

Talk about colour, origin, size and how the stone was cut. Leave out any claim that a stone treats illness or improves health.

Check each platform’s current prohibited items list before you add rough minerals or anything containing lead, arsenic or other hazardous elements.

04

Packing a hundred orders after a show

Work from the sold tray buyer by buyer, combining every piece a buyer won into one parcel. Bag, wrap, then envelope or box.

Print labels in the order of the tray so each label matches the next bag you pick up.

05

Weight, postage and heavy pieces

Weigh the packed parcel, not the stone. A 500 g sphere in a box with wrap can move into a heavier band.

Check Royal Mail and other carriers’ current weight bands, and ask buyers to pay for postage on heavy clusters.

06

Stock in a garage

Keep crystals off the floor on shelving and out of direct sun, since some stones fade in light. Rose quartz and amethyst lose colour in a sunny window.

Sweep up chips and dust after packing. Don’t let fine mineral dust build up where you work.

Common mistakes

Each one costs you money or reviews, and each has a fix.

  • Claiming a stone heals or treats anything breaks TikTok Shop rules, so describe the stone itself.
  • Packing two polished spheres together lets them chip, so bag and wrap each one.
  • Putting a heavy cluster in a padded envelope lets points snap off, so box it with wrap all round.
  • Leaving amethyst in the sun fades the colour, so store it out of light.
  • Weighing the stone instead of the packed parcel picks the wrong postage band, so weigh the parcel.

When to upgrade

Above about 80 orders a week, a key light gives the even light you need for long shows of polished pieces. At 120, a control pad with programmable keys switches camera views and lot timers during a busy show.

  • 80+ Elgato Key Light
  • 120+ Elgato Stream Deck MK.2

Questions

Can I say a crystal heals something?

No. TikTok Shop UK bans listings and live content that claim a product can treat, cure or prevent any condition, and UK advertising rules say the same. Describe the stone, its origin and its size.

How do I stop crystals chipping in the post?

Bag each piece on its own, wrap polished spheres and points in bubble wrap, and pack heavier pieces in a box with no movement. Two bare stones in one envelope scratch each other.

Envelope or box for crystals?

A few tumbled stones go in a padded envelope. Spheres, towers, clusters and anything with a fragile point go in a small box with wrap all round.

How should I weigh crystals for listings?

Weigh each larger piece on the pocket scale and say the weight in grams. Buyers compare spheres by weight and diameter.

Do I need to know where my stones come from?

Ask your supplier for the origin, and say so in shows when you know it. If a stone is treated, dyed or lab-grown, say so in the listing and on stream.

Can I store crystals in a garage?

Most tumbled stone copes with a cold garage. Keep soft, water-sensitive minerals like selenite and halite indoors or sealed, since damp marks them.
