How to post Funko Pops without crushing the box: the kit, photographed as a studio still life

Before you start

Collectors buy the window box as much as the figure. Protector, outer carton and void fill keep corners sharp and the window clear in transit.

A Pop collector will knock money off for a soft corner or a dented window, and some will open a return over a crease you could barely see. The figure inside rarely breaks: the box takes the damage.

Pack one Pop or a small bundle so the box arrives as it left your shelf: a protector, an outer carton, filler in every gap and a check before you seal.

The guide

Each step in the order you'll need it.

01

Put a protector on first

A clear plastic box protector sized for standard 4 inch Pops takes knocks and scuffs before they reach the card. Fit it before you photograph the Pop for the listing, so the buyer sees what they get.

Check the size for larger Pops, deluxe sets and boxed exclusives. A protector that is too tight bows the box; one that is too loose lets it slide about.

02

Pick an outer box with room

Leave roughly 3 to 5 cm on every side between the protected Pop and the carton wall. That gap is where the padding goes, and it absorbs a drop.

Use a double wall box for graded, vaulted or chase Pops, and for bundles of three or more. A single wall box is fine for one common Pop.

03

Fill the gaps

Lay crumpled paper in the base, set the Pop upright in the middle, then pack paper down every side and over the top. Close the flaps and shake the box: if you hear movement, add more.

Avoid wrapping bubble wrap tight around the protector with tape. Tape on the protector leaves marks, and the buyer has to cut close to the box to get it off.

04

Bundles

Stand several Pops side by side, windows facing the same way, with a sheet of card between each. That stops corners digging into the next window.

Weigh a bundle before you buy postage. Six protected Pops with filler can move you into a bigger parcel size than you guessed.

05

Seal and label

Tape across every seam with a tape gun, so neither end can burst if the box lands on a corner. Stick the label flat on the largest face.

Add a “fragile” sticker if you like, and pad the box as if the courier ignores it.

06

Before it goes

Photograph the Pop in its protector from the front and the back, showing all four corners, and then the packed box with filler in place. Keep the photos with the order.

If the buyer reports damage, those photos show the condition when it left you and how well it was packed.

Questions

What is the best way to post Funko Pops?

A box protector, then an outer carton with a few centimetres of paper or bubble wrap on every side. The outer box takes the knocks so the window box does not.

Can I post a Funko Pop in a mailing bag?

Not if the box condition matters to the buyer. A bag lets corners crush. Use a carton, even for a cheap Pop.

Do I need a protector if I use a big outer box?

It helps. The protector stops scuffs and small dents that padding alone can let through, and collectors expect it.

How do I post an out-of-box Pop?

Wrap the figure in bubble wrap, paying attention to the head and any thin parts, then pack it in a small box with filler.

Should I double box a chase or graded Pop?

Yes. Pack it in a snug box with padding, then put that box in a larger double wall carton with filler around it.

How do I post several Pops in one parcel?

Stand them side by side with card between each, fill around the group, and weigh the sealed box before buying postage.
