Several Vinted carriers take a QR code at drop-off and send no label. These printers handle the services that still send you a label to print.

About this ranking

On Vinted the buyer picks and pays for delivery at checkout, and several carriers let you drop the parcel off by showing a QR code. If your buyers mostly choose those carriers, skip the printer.

Buy a printer when your buyers choose services that still send you a label, or when you post enough each week that queueing for a QR scan gets slow. These picks start small, at about £70 to £110, because on Vinted you may print only a handful of labels.

The guide

Each step in the order you'll need it.

01

QR drop-off or printed label

Some Vinted carriers give you a QR code that the drop-off point or locker scans, and the label comes from them. Others send a label you print at home and stick on the bag. Vinted’s help centre lists which works for each carrier, so check it before you assume you need a printer.

Count your last month of sales. If most went by QR, skip the printer. If half or more needed a printed label, a thermal printer saves you the trip to a print shop and the hassle of the home inkjet.

02

Printing a Vinted label from your phone

Most Vinted selling happens in the app, so the label often lands on your phone first. Save it as a PDF and send it to the printer, either through the maker’s app or by opening it on a laptop.

Print your first label as a test and check it comes out at 100 × 150 mm and fills the sticker.

03

After a wardrobe clear-out

If you list in bursts, twenty items one weekend and nothing for a fortnight, the printer sits unused for days. Choose a small printer that starts quickly after a long gap and takes a standard roll.

Keep the labels in their bag between sessions and out of direct sun, because thermal paper fades.

04

Packing alongside the label

Most Vinted parcels are folded clothing in a grey mailing bag, which takes a label flat. Stick it on the smooth side away from the seal so it does not wrap over the fold.

For QR parcels, write the order name on the bag in pen before you leave, so you can tell two similar bags apart. The drop-off point prints the label for you.

Questions

Do I need a label printer for Vinted?

Often you don't. Some carriers let you drop off with a QR code and print the label for you. You need a printer only for services that send you a label to print.

Which Vinted carriers use a QR code?

It changes by carrier and service, so check Vinted’s help pages on shipping labels and drop-off for the current list before you post.

Can I print Vinted labels on a normal printer?

Yes. A home inkjet on A4 works, then you cut and tape the label. A thermal printer saves the cutting and the ink once you print several a week.

Who pays for postage on Vinted?

The buyer chooses and pays for delivery at checkout. You pack, then label or show the QR code at drop-off.

Is the smaller printer enough for Vinted?

Yes, if you print a handful of labels a week. It prints the same label size as the bigger ones, and only gets slow on long runs.

Should I switch my Vinted sales to printed labels?

The buyer picks the delivery service at checkout, so you can't switch them yourself. Keep a printer and the QR route both ready.
