A clip-on transmitter and a small receiver that plugs into a phone, a camera or a computer by USB, so your voice stays level when you turn to the shelf to pull the next box. The transmitter can also record a backup of the audio in case a stream drops mid-break.

## Setups

- [Pro Whatnot streaming setup for card breaks](https://sellersetups.com/setups/pro-whatnot-streaming): A two-camera studio with app-controlled lights, a button pad for angles and a packing line, for card breakers posting 80 to 300 orders a week.

## Shows where you move around

You move around during shows: turning to a shelf, walking to a rail, holding items up to a camera across the room. Clip the transmitter on and the receiver picks up your voice at the same level as you move.

The receiver also plugs into a computer or a camera, so you can use it if you stream from more than a phone.

## Range, battery and backup recording

RØDE lists a range of up to 260 m in line of sight and about 7 hours of battery per charge. Each transmitter records over 40 hours of 32-bit float audio on board, which gives you a copy of the show's sound if the stream drops.

The receiver connects by USB-C to phones and computers, or by a 3.5 mm cable to a camera. Two-transmitter kits let a co-host wear their own mic.

## Wearing it and wiring it

Clip the transmitter to your collar about a hand's width below your chin, with the mic facing up. Add the furry windshield if you sell outdoors at a fair.

Plug the receiver into the device that streams, then pick it as the audio source in your app. Turn on on-board recording so a dropped stream still leaves you clean audio for a replay clip.

## Phone mics, stream controls and camera audio

If you only stream from a phone, a cheaper clip-on wireless phone mic plugs straight in. Once you stream from a computer, a programmable button pad lets you mute and unmute audio sources with one press.

If you film product clips with a compact vlogging camera, the receiver plugs into its mic input and records far cleaner sound than the camera's built-in mic.

## Charging between shows

A long weekend break can run past the 7 hours. Charge the transmitter and receiver after every show and keep a USB-C cable at the desk.

Expect to pay £135 to £180 for the kit. Record a few seconds and play them back before each show to test levels.

## Common mistakes

- Keep the transmitter on your outer collar. Under a jumper it muffles your voice.
- If you forget to select it as the audio source, the stream uses the built-in mic. Check the input before going live.
- With on-board recording off, a dropped stream loses its audio for good. Turn it on in RØDE's app.
- At an outdoor fair, leave off the furry windshield and wind noise gets through.
- A mic facing down at the chest picks up table noise, so point it up towards your mouth.

## Questions

### Does the Wireless GO work with an iPhone?

Yes. The receiver connects by USB-C, and with an adapter to older iPhones. RØDE's compatibility list has the current models.

### Can I use it with Whatnot?

Yes. Plug the receiver into the phone or computer you stream from and select it as the mic.

### How far can I walk from the receiver?

RØDE lists up to 260 m in line of sight. Walls cut that range indoors, so test it from the rooms you use before a show.

### Do I need the two-mic kit?

Only if a co-host speaks on the show. A single transmitter covers one presenter.
