# Vinted

> Vinted charges UK sellers no selling fee and has a large clothing audience. Put your money into storage and photos, and drop parcels off the day they sell.

Buyers expect quick dispatch, so store your garments where you can find them and post parcels the same day.

Many Vinted shipping options give you a QR code to show at a drop-off point, so you can start without a label printer. Spend first on a rail and consistent light.

## Selling on Vinted from home

You list an item with photos and a price, and the buyer pays through Vinted. Once it sells, you get a shipping label or code for the carrier the buyer chose, and you drop the parcel off or book a collection.

Vinted is mainly clothing, shoes and accessories, with homeware and other categories too. Vinted’s help pages set out the UK seller rules, including when you count as a business.

## Photos that sell clothes

Use daylight by a window and a plain wall or door behind. Shoot the full item flat or on a hanger, then close-ups of the label, fabric and any marks.

A clothes rail doubles as a photo spot and as storage. Use the same background in each listing so your shop looks consistent.

## Storing stock you can find

Hang items on a rail or fold them into labelled tubs by size or type. Note the tub or rail section in your listing description or a simple spreadsheet.

Keep listed items apart from unlisted stock, so you can find each one when it sells.

## Packing and labels

Most clothing goes in a grey or paper mailing bag. Shoes and bags need a box so they hold their shape.

Some carriers on Vinted use a QR code at drop-off, so you may not need to print. If you do print, a thermal printer saves time once you post several a day.

## Dispatch expectations

Vinted sets a time limit for posting once an item sells, and can cancel the order if you miss it. Check the current timeframe on Vinted’s help pages.

Pack each order the day it sells and fit the drop-off into your day, so you post inside the window.

## Growing past the first 50 orders

Offer a bundle discount: buyers take several items in one parcel, and you post fewer parcels. Keep mailing bags in each size you sell.

Batch photos and listings by item type. If you cross-list, delist sold items on every other site.

## Common mistakes

- A messy bed behind the clothes makes them look worn, so shoot against a plain wall or a rail.
- Folding shoes into a mailing bag crushes them, so use a box.
- Leaving stock unsorted means hunting for items after they sell, so note a tub or rail location for each listing.
- Missing the posting window can cancel the sale, so pack and drop off soon after each order.
- If you skip close-ups of labels and marks, buyers ask questions and open disputes. Show the size label and any flaws.

## Questions

### Do I need a printer to sell on Vinted?

No, not at first. Several Vinted shipping options let you drop off with a QR code and no printed label. Some carriers still need a label, and once you sell across Vinted and eBay a thermal printer covers both.

### Should clothing go in poly bags or paper?

Grey poly mailing bags are cheap and light, and they keep garments dry. Paper bags cost more but suit a vintage shop if your buyers dislike plastic. Either way, wrap the garment in tissue first.

### Does Vinted charge sellers fees?

Vinted charges UK sellers no selling fee. Buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee at checkout. Vinted’s help pages list the current fees.

### Can I sell new items on Vinted?

Yes, but if you sell regularly for profit you may count as a business seller, with different rules. Check Vinted’s guidance on pro sellers.

### How do I send items on Vinted?

After the sale, Vinted gives you a label or code for the buyer’s chosen carrier. Pack the item and drop it off or book a collection.

### Should I offer bundles?

Buyers can take several of your items in one parcel and save on postage. Set a bundle discount in your settings.
