# Vinted parcel sizes and packaging rules

> Vinted UK’s carrier size and weight limits for standard and heavy items, how the app picks a parcel size, and what to check before a buyer pays.

Updated 6 October 2026

Vinted picks a suggested parcel size for you from the category, brand and item size you enter. The buyer pays postage for that size at checkout, and the carrier then expects your parcel to match it.

The figures below come from Vinted UK’s help page on parcel size limits, checked in October 2026. Vinted changes carriers and limits, so check that page or the app’s shipping options before you post a heavy or oversized item.

## Limits for standard items

For clothing, shoes, bags, books and toys, Vinted lists a 2 kg maximum with each carrier. InPost lockers, shops and home delivery accept up to 64 × 38 × 41 cm.

Royal Mail 2nd Class Medium Parcel allows up to 61 × 46 × 46 cm. Evri uses a formula: length plus twice the width plus twice the height must be 245 cm or less.

## Limits for heavy items

Consoles, dinner sets, rugs and similar items use a heavy-item option. Vinted lists Royal Mail 2nd Class Medium Parcel at up to 20 kg and Evri at up to 15 kg, with the same dimension limits as standard items.

Pack heavy items in a double-wall box. A mailing bag can split under that weight.

## How Vinted picks the size

The app suggests a size when you list. Measure the item in the packaging you plan to use and change the size before you publish if it looks wrong.

Vinted’s help says the parcel size and carrier cannot change once the buyer has paid for shipping. So check the weight and measurements before you list.

## Packaging that fits the rules

Vinted asks for packaging about the same size as the item. Pack the item in a bag or box close to its size and you also stay inside the carrier limits.

Its help centre keeps a packaging requirements page with a prohibited items list. Read it before selling anything with batteries, liquids or blades.

## Bundles and postage

If a buyer bundles several items, the combined parcel still has to sit inside one size band. Weigh the full bundle before you accept an offer on a big one.

Three pairs of jeans can tip past 2 kg. If that happens, suggest splitting the order or ask the buyer to rebuy at a larger size.

## Weigh and measure every time

Keep a parcel scale and a tape measure on the packing table and check each parcel before you seal it. Write the weight on the order note so you can compare later sales of similar items.

If a parcel is over the limit, carriers may charge extra or refuse it, according to Vinted. Repack it to fit.

## Kit for this

- **[30 kg digital postal scale](https://sellersetups.com/product/parcel-scale-30kg)** (£12 to £20): Covers the parcels most home sellers ship, up to 30 kg. Choose it when the 40 kg scale is out of stock.
- **[Grey mailing bags, 10 x 14 in, 100 pack](https://sellersetups.com/product/grey-mailing-bags)** (£8 to £13): Self-seal poly bags add almost no weight, so a single garment posts as a small parcel. You can't see through the opaque grey film, and a label lies flat on it.
- **[Small single-wall boxes, 25 pack](https://sellersetups.com/product/single-wall-boxes)** (£8 to £14): Use these for boxed toys and beauty sets that a padded bag would crush, when double-wall board costs more than you need.
- **[Honeycomb paper wrap, 100 m roll](https://sellersetups.com/product/paper-void-fill)** (£18 to £28): Stretches into a cushioned mesh and goes in the paper recycling. Choose it if low-plastic packaging is part of your shop's pitch.
- **[Brown packing tape, 48 mm x 66 m, 6 rolls](https://sellersetups.com/product/brown-packing-tape)** (£5 to £9): 48 mm is the width tape guns take. Six rolls last a shop sending a few boxes a week for a few months.

## Setups

- [Spare-bedroom setup for a Vinted clothing seller](https://sellersetups.com/setups/vinted-vintage-spare-room): Rails, a packing table and a photo corner that let one person list, store and post 40 to 80 vintage garments a week.

## Questions

### What size parcel can I send on Vinted?

For standard items Vinted lists up to 2 kg with every carrier, with box limits that vary by carrier. Check Vinted’s parcel size limits page for the current figures.

### Can I change the parcel size after a sale?

Vinted’s help says no once the buyer has paid for shipping. Set it correctly when you list.

### What happens if my parcel is too big?

Vinted warns that carriers may charge extra fees or refuse the parcel. Repack it smaller if you can.

### Can I send a Large Letter on Vinted?

The options depend on the item and carrier in the app. Check the shipping options shown at listing rather than assuming a Large Letter rate.

### How do I post heavy items on Vinted?

Use the heavy item option, which Vinted lists up to 20 kg with Royal Mail and 15 kg with Evri. Pack in a strong box.

### Does Vinted check my packaging?

Carriers check size and weight. Vinted publishes packaging requirements, so poor packing can count against you if an item arrives damaged.
